Rebar prices in major regions of China witnessed an upward trend during the month mainly supported by high raw material prices and the price increase in futures market. In addition, wire rod prices in North China and East China went down on weak demand, while those in South China rose slightly. Chinese export prices of wire rod and rebar went up further during the month because of high prices of steel mills.
In the international market, prices of wire rod and rebar in Malaysia and Vietnam rose during the month mainly supported by high prices of steel mills and raw materials, and those in India were generally stable, while those in Thailand dropped on soft demand.
