OVERVIEW
Looking back to 2022, Chinese rare earth separation plants and smelters faced difficulties amid Covid waves. Chinese NdFeB magnet, catalyst, polishing powder, phosphor powder, glass, ceramics and other downstream industries were dim. Under the background of reduced supply and soft demand, Chinese rare earth prices declined. Leading overseas rare earth producers enlarged production. Other international rare earth miners accelerated development in order to start production earlier. Overseas electric vehicle industry faced challenges. As some Chinese rare earth upstream plants reduced or halted production, the Chinese rare earth market saw increasing prices in late Q4 of 2022. Given the upward price trends and adjustment of China’s epidemic prevention and control measures, how will the rare earth prices fluctuate in 2023? Whether the rare earth downstream demand would pick up in 2023? What lies ahead the overseas rare earth industry in 2023? Whether the international expectations electric vehicle industry could meet participants' expectations in 2023?
With the first summit hosted by Asian Metal in 2011, the annual Rare Earth Summit has been witnessing strong support and active participation of around over 200 companies around the world. The Rare Earth Summit has been successfully held in Hangzhou, Ningbo, Chengdu, Nanning, Chongqing, Nanjing, Shanghai, Sanya, Qingdao of China and Pittsburgh as well as San Francisco of United States, ect.
