OVERVIEW
Looking back at 2023, the global rare earth industry suffered a lot of challenges and uncertainties as a result of sluggish global economy recovery, escalating geopolitical tensions, increasing international trade barriers and prominent potential financial risks. Production capacities of Chinese rare earth separation plants and smelters moved up further and the industrial structure adjustment accelerated. Chinese NdFeB magnet production capacity climbed sharply but the demand growth from emerging terminal application markets, especially new energy vehicle industry, was less than expected. Catalyst, polishing powder, phosphor powder, glass, ceramics and other traditional downstream industries still suffered drastic competition. Although overseas downstream market also witnessed slow demand growth due to dim economy, leading overseas rare earth producers expedite the production expansion and industrial layout of vertical supply chain, and other international rare earth miners tried their best to start production earlier, both targeting at higher market share.
Looking ahead to 2024, how will Chinese rare earth prices fluctuate? How will Chinese separation plants and smelters seek for new opportunities? What lies ahead the international rare earth industry? Whether international miners could develop business rapidly? Whether the new energy vehicle industry will witness strong demand? How about other rare earth downstream industries development trends?
With the first summit hosted by Asian Metal in 2011, the annual Rare Earth Summit has been witnessing strong support and active participation of around over 200 companies around the world. The Rare Earth Summit has been successfully held in Hangzhou, Ningbo, Chengdu, Nanning, Chongqing, Nanjing, Shanghai, Sanya, Qingdao of China and Pittsburgh as well as San Francisco of United States, ect. Cooperating through thick and thin for 15 years, let’s jointly write a new chapter and start a new journey! Let us reunite in the 15th Rare Earth Summit to be held in Sanya, Hainan on 25-26 April 2024, when industry elites from all over the world will exchange ideas, share inspiration and work together for a glorious future!
