Chinese steel plate prices moved up a lot on a national scale from Feb 1st to Feb 19th, driven by higher ex-works prices and good expectation of the forthcoming market. However, it began to fall in the last week because of customers’ weak demand and the slump in futures market. Looking back on this month, the steel plate price increased slightly in some market like Shanghai and Tianjin while it kept stable in Guangzhou. Insiders deem that the price is likely to grow in March.
