Most participants left the market to celebrate the Spring Festival early February and the market was slow after the holiday as some customers did not restart business immediately. Influenced by the soft demand from buyers, the price decrease of steel billet coupled with traders' relatively large stocks, the price of HR strip went down this month. The government may publish some bad news for steel industry in view of the environment pollution and also announced good news to promote the economic development, so traders are confident of the coming market after the NPC&CPPCC, and insiders deem that prices are likely to go up by then but early next month, prices will decrease slightly.
