Selenium market basically remains stable in the first half of January with some slight increase in prices and starts to move downward in the second half of the month. Manganese producers maintain a hand-to-mouth purchasing style, on the low operation and demand for selenium dioxide is not strong. China is in sufficient supply of selenium with large import volume in December, and many participants are not confident in the future market. Tellurium prices continue to decrease throughout the month and demand from downstream market remains sluggish. Chinese traders intend to rebuild stocks from the global market, but it is hard for them to find profitable prices.
