Prices of stainless scrap rose slightly this month, mainly boosted by sharp and continuous price increases of nickel both at home and abroad
. The market performance showed signs of warming up right after the New Year holiday (January 1-3) as downstream foundries began supplementing inventories after the consumption during the holiday, but it got worse with end users’ enthusiasm calmed down gradually . Although the price after the Spring Festival was expected to go up after the Spring Festival (February 10), most traders were not so optimistic about the coming market and they were not active in building large stocks . Insiders deem the market is unlikely to make any progress in February when most participants are still in the holiday.
