Global primary aluminum production increased rapidly. It increases by more than 60% in the past decade, from about 27.48 million tons to more than 44.62 million tons. However, the productions from the regions out of China did not grow as fast as that in China. The increase of Chinese primary aluminum production contributed the most to the global growth. Growth of Chinese primary aluminum production slowed down a bit in 2011 and 2012, while the growth rate was still higher than 10% on year base, pushing global production to keep growing fast.
