Aluminum smelting capacity expansion in China seems not to slow down even though the Chinese market has been trapped in serious surplus and aluminum ingot price keeps lingering at low levels. The smelting capacity of about 3.56 million tons per annum is under construction, mainly in northwestern regions, and the smelting capacity of about 3.52 million tons per annum has been on schedule in 2013.
