South China entered the dry season gradually in November and the power price in some areas increased in late November
. Chinese silicon metal prices increased in November . Into December, the power price in some areas in South China increased and the operating rate decreased gradually further, therefore Chinese silicon metal prices increased further in December and many smelters were holding back from selling materials . Chinese silicon metal export prices increased in the first half of December following the domestic trend . The State Council of the people's Republic of China approved the “The Application Plans of Customs tariff for 2013” and published it on December 17th . The policy will be executed from January 1st 2013 . In the list of “Customs tariff for exporting materials“, there was not any information about silicon metal (Customs code 28046900) . Relevant department claimed that it means that China will cancel the silicon metal export tax (which is currently 15%) from January 1st 2013 . Almost no silicon metal were exported in the second half of December . Many orders were postponed to be delivered until January, and the market also saw few new orders at the time .
