Supply of molybdenum concentrate became tight from November, and this situation kept into December. In view of this, price of molybdenum concentrate continued increasing, with mainstream price through the line of RMB1,500/mtu (USD10.91/lb) in early December and drawing near the line of RMB1,600/mtu (USD11.63/lb) by the end of this month. And as raw material price went up, markets of ferromolybdenum, molybdenum chemicals and molybdenum products increased accordingly.
European molybdenum market was also active in December for tight supply before the Christmas holiday. In this month, prices of molyoxide and ferromolybdenum increased by USD0.4/lb and USD0.60/kg Mo to USD11.80/lb and USD29.00/kg Mo respectively.
