Prices of wire rod and rebar in most domestic markets showed a slight upward trend in December, with increasing prices of raw materials. However, the demand from end users remained soft as it was getting colder and the operation of many outside construction projects was or would be suspended. Therefore, traders were pessimistic about the coming market in January when the demand is weaker. Observers predict that prices would go up early next month because buyers would purchase materials after the New Year holiday but then prices would go down.
