Prices of welded pipe soared in the week after the Mid-Autumn and National Day holiday (Sep 30-Oct 7) boosted by price increases of raw materials like iron ore, steel billet and HR strip, but they went down gradually in the next two weeks following price fluctuations of raw materials. In the meantime, traders reported heavy capital pressures and poor sales performances. In addition, they did not think the approaching 18th National Congress could bring stimulant policies, thus the market is unlikely to recover in November when the weather gets colder and construction progress slows down. Insiders predict that the price is likely to go down slightly next month.
