The price of stainless scrap went up slightly, with a markup of RMB400-600/t, mainly boosted by sharp price rise of the raw material-nickel. However, most traders were not confident of the coming market due to the poor market performance and they did not expect for a significant price increase in the short term. Besides, most downstream foundries just purchased to meet urgent needs, instead of building large stocks. Insiders think the price is likely to go up slightly in October, but the market performance is hard to recover.
