Chinese gallium market moved slowly in August. The demand from downstream industries did not see any improvement and the buying activities of the investors slowed down gradually. The prices of indium metal 99.99%min kept at RMB3,550-3,650/kg (USD560-576/kg) VAT included in the first half of August and declined by RMB100/kg (USD16/kg) to RMB3,450-3,550/kg (USD544-560/kg) VAT included in the second half of the month. The consumers are still unwilling to hold inventories in large volume and inclined to make purchase from hand to mouth, therefore, it is expected that the market will remain quiet in September with the prices not varying much.
