Affected by the low demand from downstream industries, Chinese gallium market still moved quite slowly in April. Most end-users were unwilling to hold inventories in large volume and still took a hand-to-mouth purchasing strategy. The prices of Chinese gallium metal 99.99%min decreased from RMB2,500-2,700/kg (USD397-429/kg) in early April to RMB2,350-2,550/kg (USD373-405/kg) in late April, with a 6% decrease throughout this month. As the demand from the consumers is still low, the gallium market will not firm up in May, and the prices of gallium metal 99.99%min could move down further.
