In April, the demand from downstream consumers did not show any sign of pick-up, and market moves steady and slow. Some producers in Dengfeng and Shanxi cannot even produce continuously. Nearly all processors and smelters were out of production due to power outage brought by voltage transformation from April 10th to April 27th. Sharp increase of freight from China to Europe deteriorated export market further. Although alumina price rebounded slightly at the end of March, white fused alumina price remains steady as the market was still slow.
