In general, cobalt market stabilized and then increased in January. Although European debt crisis remains gloomy, US and emerging markets slightly improved with higher capacity utilization of factories, based on economic data released in January. The price of cobalt was pushed up as consumers restarted buying and some international speculators speculated. Asian cobalt market followed to rise.
