The price of steel scrap consolidated in a weak level in some areas in China since January, 2012. The price had decreased sharply in some areas early this month, and the market kept stable as the Spring Festival approached with the market almost halting in the festival. Demand for scrap declined, and mainstream mills were suspending purchasing or cutting production, overhauling in the period of the Spring Festival.
