Molybdenum prices increased early January in Western countries, which was benefited from a round of purchase from downstream consumers after the Christmas holiday; while domestic molybdenum market didn’t move up accordingly, with mainstream prices of molybdenum concentrate and ferromolybdenum generally unchanged. European molybdenum market kept firm from the middle of this month, but Chinese molybdenum market became quiet as the Spring Festival was drawing near and many producers took holiday in advance this year.
