Manganese flake price dropped to about RMB15,200/t (USD2,225/t) ex works from about RMB16,000/t (USD2,343/t) ex works of early this month. The demand from downstream market keeps weak, and the consumption volume of manganese was decreasing, which pushed the manganese flake price to dip directly. For most small-sized smelters, the manganese flake price decreased to below the production line. Some small-sized smelters had to halt production, and major smelters had to cut output gradually. The operating rate of smelters dropped to about 40%.
