European consumers prepared inventory before Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays in cobalt market and purchasing activities increased, pushing up cobalt price to rise slightly. However, Japanese and South Korean consumers reduced stock at the end of 2011 and cobalt market was quiet in thin trading and Chinese cobalt export market was affected. In Chinese cobalt market, suppliers were in a hurry to sell goods because of the increasing cash pressure at the year end and cobalt price decreased continuously.
