The situation of rare earth market remains gradually sluggish in December, and the product prices decrease further. In domestic market, the relevant downstream industries of RE are soft, which makes purchasers delay making the purchases. In addition, the traditional Spring Festival Holiday is coming, and it is difficult to conclude rare earths transactions. According to the current market situation, there is little sign of rebounding for the demand of rare earths before the holiday.
Meanwhile, the market overseas continues to be weak. Global economy is quiet, and RE consumers abroad are concerned about the economic recession. Therefore, they are reluctant to replenish stocks in bulk. Speculators and investors are eager to cash rare earth products they stockpiled early this year, which makes the supply of rare earth products to be over the demand in the spot market. Rare-earth prices keep falling, and buyers are not positive to return to the market.
