Impacted by debt crisis in Europe, demand in European cobalt market was not strong in the first half of November, and the market was quiet with suppliers lowering their prices continuously. In the Ni&Co annual meeting in the middle of November, most participants were worried about the future market and cobalt supply was expected to increase in 2012. Freeport will supply more crude intermediate products next year. At the same time, the Ni&Co project in Madagascar of Sherritt, Sumitomo Corporation, and a South Korean company, will be put into operation in 2012 and the annual production of this product is 5,600t of cobalt.
