In the beginning of November, the magnesium ingot price decreased this week continually. The price in Shanxi and Shaanxi declined to RMB16,600-16,900/t (USD2,617-2,665/t) ex works and RMB16,100-16,300/t (USD2,538-2,570/t) ex works respectively. The demand of magnesium ingot kept weak, and the magnesium ingot market was still poor. Most of magnesium ingot producers undersold the material for relieving the pressure of the stock and financial. However, considering the declining of magnesium ingot prices, many buyers hesitated to enter the market, and waited the price touched the bottom line.
In the middle of November, even though the demand from downstream buyers is still very weak and thin activities occurred in the market. However, some of magnesium ingot producers have moved lots of material during this period at a very low price, which has relieved the stocks and financial pressures from magnesium ingot producers slightly. Even though the price of ferrosilicon has dropped slightly, and some producers worried that the price of magnesium ingot may pulled down by it. From the whole situation, it is obvious that the cost of magnesium ingot is still relative high; it is hard for magnesium ingot producers to low the price to draw attentions from buyers. At the same time, it is widely to know that the demand is the main reason which could influence the magnesium ingot price, and the dull market is mainly influenced by the poor demand. Some magnesium ingot producers will not move down the price of magnesium ingot further, for they own small inventory and financial pressures had relieved to some degree. The price of magnesium ingot show signs of stabilizing in this period.
