In October, Chinese domestic germanium metal market mainly kept quiet, with prices slightly moving down in late month. As European and US economy remained weak after Summer Vacation in August, demand for domestic germanium metal showed no improvement and customers mainly bought by long-term contracts with few demands in spot market. Meantime, US and European germanium metal markets were not optimistic. Most customers kept hand-to-mouth purchase and tried to reduce their inventories, refraining from buying in large quantities, which reduced the price further.
