Tungsten Market was quiet in September. Ganzhou Tungsten Industry Association announced September guiding prices on September 6, which were unchanged compared with those of August. Influenced by the unclear global economy and high prices, consumers are inactive in buying. Tungsten prices started softening around the Mid-August Festival that tungsten concentrate and APT prices fell slowly and continued sliding after the Mid-August Festival.
International Tungsten Industry Association held annual meeting on September 18-22. Before the meeting, many market participants expected that market trend would be clear after the meeting. Asian Metal learned that few deals were concluded during the conference, and APT price is expected to be relatively stable for the rest of the year. Although the debt crisis in Europe and US put market participants under pressure, Chinese control of the strategic resources would be the strong support for tungsten prices in both domestic and overseas market.
