In July, the antimony market experienced a new round of price soar without strong demand support. In June, the price kept sliding day after day, when entering in July, some speculators thought the price of antimony ingot had touched the bottom line and begun to buy in antimony ingot to stock up, so the price went up and up in July.
The price of antimony ingot 99.65%min rose by RMB16,000/t from RMB75,500-78,000/t early in early July to RMB91,500-94,000/t ex works within four weeks as the price increased day after day pushed by the speculators in domestic market, and then in late July, the price stabilized at RMB91,500-94,000/t ex works owing to weak demand.
The price of antimony trioxide 99.5%min went up following the price increase of antimony ingot, but the price increase of antimony trioxide lagged behind that of antimony ingot owing to no speculation activities and weak demand in antimony trioxide market. In July, the price of antimony trioxide 99.5%min rose by RMB14,000/t from RMB67,000-69,000/t to RMB81,000-83,000/t ex works.
