In July, rare earth market fluctuated a bit in general, after the stable market of June. Downstream industries are inactive and the demand of rare earth is weak. The sales volume of the whole market decreased greatly, as purchasers prefer to watch the market.
The southern environmental integration was strengthened and manufacturers in South China don’t have big volume of stocks at the moment and pin their hopes on the future market of late August. Traders want to get rid of the rising risk of rare earth market, and have intention to sell rare earth products at lower prices. Light rare earth products market is slow and users are rejected in replenishing stocks. Heavy rare earth products inquiries declined sharply due to the wait-and-see attitude of purchasers.
Following with the slow market of domestic market, international rare earth market shows stable tendency in July. Importers want to watch the market, hoping lower prices. Chinese exporters have intention to lower lanthanum oxide and cerium oxide prices on order to export these materials, however, the expected prices of oversea importers are too low to conclude deals with domestic sellers. Dysprosium-related demand is strong and exporters have no hurry to sell, hoping higher prices.
