The global economic data appeared weak in May, triggering the concerns on the slowdown of economic growth. However, the weaker US dollar supported the commodities, so the lead futures recovered on the LME in late May. As many lead acid battery producers halted production for environmental protection inspection in China, the demand for lead ingot declined greatly. The lead ingot prices declined from RMB17,000/t to RMB16,000/t in May.
