September's manganese complex lacked a single direction, its segments diverging along liquidity and supply lines. Carbonate ore (Mn 13%min) held steady on routine buying, while S.A. 36%min ore moved slowly with largely unchanged prices. Manganese flake 99.7%min proved the exception: slow transactions and rising supply pulled domestic prices downward, cautious buying persisted, and export quotations softened in tandem with domestic weakness.
The lump and ferro-manganese segments reflected demand inertia more than outright price collapse. Manganese lump 96.5%min saw slack transactions and a weakly stable tone, with Russia moving steadily. Ferro-manganese Mn 75%min/C 8%max encountered rare deals and small-volume buying; Mn 78%min/C 1.5%max saw only limited purchasing activity. Prices were effectively anchored by absent demand rather than active support.
Silico-manganese remained the softest link. The 60/14 grade moved slowly with a weakening bias, while 65/17 witnessed rare deals and cautious buying. Across September, the market's defining feature was fragile demand: buyers purchased hand-to-mouth, sellers faced thin order books, and only flake confronted visible supply-side pressure—leaving the broader manganese complex in a holding pattern awaiting a demand catalyst.
