Driven by rising buying interest and shrinking availability, most producers of 72%min ferrosilicon faced supply constraints and consequently raised their offer prices. At the same time, with domestic prices on the rise, Chinese exporters of 72%min ferrosilicon also lifted their quotations, while market transactions remained steady.
In China, the 75%min ferrosilicon market experienced slower activity this month, as several downstream magnesium ingot plants suspended production for equipment maintenance. However, supported by firm domestic prices and consistent purchasing from overseas buyers, export trade for 75%min ferrosilicon ran smoothly and prices remained unchanged.
Early July saw Indian suppliers succumb to modest price concessions, weighed down by lackluster demand and fierce competition among sellers. In the second half of the month, most buyers continued with their regular procurement, and prices stabilised at relatively low levels. Similarly, the US market for 75%min ferrosilicon moved at a subdued pace, with prices slipping slightly amid weak demand and supplier rivalry.
