In June, the Chinese magnesium ingot market experienced a slack state on the whole. Entering the first half of June, the mainstream Chinese magnesium ingot 99.9%min prices stayed flat largely. Dragged by slow demand and cautious purchase from buyers, the market moved slowly. In the second half of June, dragged by slow demand from buyers and strong intention to compete for deals from suppliers, Chinese magnesium ingot prices went down on the whole.
In the first half of June, in line with stable magnesium ingot prices, the mainstream Chinese magnesium powder prices stayed unchanged and downstream buyers from steel mills and chemical plants purchased the material cautiously. In the second half of June, due to downward ingot prices and continuous slack transactions, Chinese magnesium powder prices went down accordingly.
From early to middle of June, due to stabilized magnesium ingot prices, the prevailing Chinese magnesium alloy prices remained unchanged. Most buyers from die casting and 3C plants placed orders as scheduled. In the second half of June, in view of downward prices and continuous slowdown transactions, Chinese magnesium alloy prices followed suit and went down accordingly.
In view of price fluctuation for domestic magnesium ingot, magnesium powder and magnesium alloy, the mainstream Chinese export prices for magnesium ingot, magnesium powder and magnesium alloy also followed suit. Nevertheless, restricted by slow demand and high sea freight, the export market for magnesium ingot, magnesium powder and magnesium alloy experienced a very slack market state.
