In the first three quarters of 2025, Yunnan Chihong Zinc and Germanium Co., Ltd. recorded operating revenue of RMB17.18 billion (USD2.41 billion), up 17.24% from the prior year period. Third-quarter revenue reached RMB6.6 billion (USD926 million), up 36.73% YoY, maintaining steady overall growth. The company continued to optimize its product mix, achieving a significant rise in the output of high-value-added products. 15
4.5 Sinomine's Tsumeb smelter begins phase I operations 16
On December 15, Sinomine Resources put Phase I rotary kiln into operation at the Tsumeb smelter in Namibia as part of the company's multi-metal recovery project. The start-up marks a key step in transforming the historic smelter into a modern, eco-friendly operation. With a total planned investment of about USD222 million, the multi-metal recovery project is designed to process 200,000 tonnes of slag per year, including 80,000 tonnes in Phase I. Once fully operational, it is expected to produce 33 tonnes of germanium ingot, 11 tonnes of industrial-grade gallium, and 10,900 tonnes of zinc ingot annually, while creating nearly 400 local jobs. 16
