Prices of wire rod and rebar in major regions of China witnessed a downward trend during the month on soft demand and the price decrease in futures market. In addition, Chinese export prices of wire rod and rebar moved up during the month because of RMB appreciation.
In the international market, prices of wire rod and rebar in India and Vietnam went up during the month mainly supported by high prices of steel mills, and those in Malaysia were generally stable, while those in Thailand decreased on weak demand.
