1. Market Highlights
In early October, prices increased as most consumers remained active in placing orders and purchased from hand to mouth. Discouraged by weak demand from downstream consumers, molybdenum concentrate and molybdenum oxide prices reduced and remained stable since mid-October.
Following prices of molybdenum concentrate, Chinese ferromolybdenum prices rose in early October. As most steel mills remained reluctant in purchasing, prices decreased since mid-October.
Following the trend of molybdenum concentrate, downstream molybdenum chemical products and molybdenum metal prices increased firstly from early October to mid-October and decreased in late October.
In international molybdenum market, as strong demand, market prices of molybdenum products showed uptrend early October and remained stable in mid-October but then went down due to weak demand in late October.
