Prices for antimony products rose rapidly in the Chinese market in May, when the domestic spot market saw tight supply as domestic producers kept low operating rates owing to the slowdown of imports of antimony ores from Russia and the fact that some provinces and cities in China were still in environmental inspections. Given insufficient supply for raw material, suppliers of antimony products showed strong intention to hold back from selling. As prices for raw material increased, prices for antimony trioxide and other downstream products rose rapidly by as high as RMB40,000/t (USD5,516/t) in the domestic market during the month.

Driven by the increase of prices in the domestic market, the international market of antimony products also witnessed rapid increase of prices in May.
