    1 Market Highlights
    1.1 Prebaked anode

    In January, prebaked anode prices in China went down further because of the increased supply and reduced cost of pet coke in the previous month. Export prices followed the downward trend with quiet spot sales.

    1.2 Pet coke

    Pet coke prices in China moved up as a whole in January, as end users began replenishing stocks for the upcoming Spring Festival holiday.

    1.3 Graphite electrode

    The graphite electrode market remained sluggish in January with quiet demand, however, prices found support from the middle of January due to the surged pet coke prices. Export prices touched bottom as well.

    1.4 CPC

    As pet coke prices surged and the purchase demand improved, CPC prices in China climbed in January.

    1.5 Coal tar pitch

    In January, average coal tar pitch prices slipped but mainstream prices rebounded from the middle of this month as many producers cut production.
