1. Market Highlights
The domestic section steel and steel pipe market failed to improve further during the month. The demand from downstream industries shrank gradually dragged by the cold weather. Besides, believing prices unlikely to go up obviously, end users showed little intention in building stocks and strictly purchased from hand to mouth. In addition, most downstream customers reported insufficient orders for final products. However, prices of raw materials especially those of iron ore kept rising, stimulating steel mills and traders to move up prices of finished steel. As traders kept cautious about supplementing inventories, the market stock remained low.
