Wire rod and rebar prices in major markets of China witnessed an upward trend in general during the month because of high raw material prices and the price increase in futures market. However, Chinese export prices of wire rod and rebar went down slightly due to the weak demand from overseas customers.
In the international market, prices of wire rod and rebar in India, Thailand and Vietnam went down during the month due to soft demand from downstream industries, while those in Malaysia rose mainly supported by high prices of steel mills.
