Mainstream prices of Chinese antimony concentrate stayed firm at RMB68,500-69,500/t (USD9,790-9,933/t) in April as suppliers kept their quotations firm in view of limited spot supply; downstream consumers kept steady purchases given the supply shortage, so the domestic antimony concentrate market ran steadily during the month. Supported by firm antimony concentrate prices and limited antimony ingot stocks, Chinese antimony ingot prices remained firm although downstream consumers only waited on the sidelines owing to inactive demand; mainstream prices of Chinese antimony ingot 99.85%min kept firm at over RMB82,000/t (USD11,720/t) and those of antimony ingot 99.65%min stayed firm at around RMB81,000/t (USD11,577/t). In light of firm antimony ingot prices, Chinese antimony trioxide suppliers kept their quotations firm, leading to steady mainstream prices for the material amid stalemates; mainstream prices of Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min stayed firm at RMB71,000/t (USD10,148/t); in late April, antimony trioxide prices were slightly higher than early April, but deals were still limited as consumers only kept purchasing in accordance with orders owing to inactive demand although most producers just arranged production based on orders with limited stocks in hand. Chinese ethylene glycol antimony market ran slowly in April with inactive demand and limited orders from downstream polyester and chemical fiber consumers who were cautious about refilling stocks; mainstream prices of Chinese ethylene glycol antimony 57%min stood at RMB57,000-58,000/t (USD8,148-8,291/t) during the month amid stalemates. The international antimony market saw soft demand and inactive deals in April overall as buyers were reluctant to refill stocks and mainly kept purchasing based on orders against the backdrop of sluggish economy in Europe and USA. In mid-April, some international buyers intended to refill stocks, leading to slight increase of enquiries, but prices still stayed amid stalemates on the whole; restricted by limited raw material supply, international antimony ingot 99.65%min producers kept limited output during the month and the supply from them also tightened with relatively saturated orders.
