1. Market Highlights
Discouraged by rising bearish sentiment from market participants and continuously falling prices of raw materials, CRC and HGI coil average prices in Chinese major regions dropped by RMB200-300/t (USD29-43/t) in April. Steel mills began to face rising difficulties in taking orders. Due to lower prices in domestic market and soft demand from overseas clients, exporters cut offers again and again this month, while deals from buyers reduced when prices continued on the decline.
In the international market, prices in Malaysia, Vietnam and India remained on the downward in the whole month due to falling prices of raw materials and weakened demand from downstream industries.
