    Supported by firm production costs despite weak demand from consumers, most magnesite suppliers hold their prices stable this month.

    Most caustic calcined magnesia producers held their prices unchanged this month given weak demand but high production costs. Most exporters held their caustic calcined magnesia prices unchanged this week supported by stable domestic prices despite weak overseas demand.

    The mainstream prices of dead burned magnesia MgO 90%min decreased in mid-February due to the price decrease of coal, and then stayed steady in the rest of the month supported by firm production costs. The mainstream prices of other dead burned magnesia products stood flat this month as most suppliers, supported by high production costs, refused to lower prices despite weak demand.
