1. Market Highlights
The domestic section steel and steel pipe market performed inactively in the first half of the month as downstream plants did not resume production, and it improved gradually from the second half of the month with the demand from downstream industries recovering day by day. Prices of raw materials kept rising, together with the improving market performance, stimulating steel mills and traders to raise prices. In the meantime, the booming exports strengthened the confidence of domestic market participants to some degree. The market inventory remained low as traders kept cautious about supplementing stocks before the Spring Festival.
