1 Market Highlights
Most producers of lead ingot reduced the production this month due to Spring Festival holidays and the downstream clients finished stocking up before the middle of this month, which brought decreased prices this month. Given that consumers purchased from hand to mouth, the transactions of primary lead ingot remained soft this month.
In January, the supply of domestic lead concentrate decreased slightly as the Spring Festival started in the middle of this month. And the market saw steady TCs and increased deals for domestic lead concentrate before the Spring Festival. Both supply and transactions of imported lead concentrate remained limited in general in January.
The prices of secondary lead ingot went down this month following that of primary lead ingot. Considering the narrowing prices gaps between primary and secondary lead ingot, spot market saw decreased deals under the reduced consumption, especially during the Spring Festival.
