1. Market Highlights
Antimony product prices fluctuated downwards in China in November 2022; owing to soft demand in the terminal market, some Chinese suppliers intended to make small concessions in prices to recoup funds at the year-end, leading to the downward price trend of antimony product. In particular, antimony concentrate prices declined slightly during November dragged by lower antimony ingot prices in spite of tight supply in the spot market. In view of difficulties in selling antimony trioxide, Chinese antimony trioxide producers intended to force down their purchasing prices for antimony ingot and some antimony ingot suppliers had to make small concessions in prices, leading to further decline of antimony ingot prices in the market. Some Chinese antimony trioxide suppliers started giving small discounts in late November, resulting in lower prices of antimony trioxide. Against the backdrop of soft demand in the downstream polyester and fiber chemical markets, it's hard to sell ethylene glycol antimony and prices of raw material declined; so Chinese ethylene glycol antimony suppliers made small concessions in prices to boost sales and many producers were forced to cut inventory to avoid risks. The domestic sodium antimonite market saw strong demand, but prices went down slightly owing to lower raw material prices in spite of tight supply in the market overall.
The international antimony market saw inactive deals owing to soft demand in Europe and America and downward economy worldwide. Most international antimony product suppliers intended to cut their prices to boost sales and recoup funds at the year-end, leading to sharp decline of export prices of Chinese antimony products. Export prices of Chinese antimony trioxide went down slightly and export deals for antimony trioxide were inactive as most overseas consumers only refilled stocks based on orders and some exporters were forced to make small concessions in prices to boost sales. The antimony concentrate import market also saw inactive deals with limited imports for the material.
