The coming environmental protection inspection would increase production costs of refractory industry.

4. Company News

4.1 Inner Mongolia Shenhong to start green silicon carbide production
A new green silicon carbide producer in China, Inner Mongolia Shenhong New Minerals Co., Ltd. plans to start green silicon carbide 10-30cm production since late October, expecting an output of nearly 1,000t in November. They expect to start pilot production of green silicon carbide in late October and predict the output to reach about 1,000t in November. They started green silicon carbide 10-30cm production for decent profit. They already installed the production line and planned to start production on mid-October but had to postpone the date to the end of the month due to pandemic quarantine. With a current production capacity of 18,000tpy, the company expect to produce about 2,500t of green silicon carbide this year. They still keep black silicon carbide segment sand and powder production with a monthly capacity of 2,000t.

4.2 Tianzhu Zhengxing to resume black silicon carbide production
Tianzhu Zhengxing Silicon Carbide Co., Ltd., a major black silicon carbide producer in China, plans to resume production in early November and expects to produce about 1,000t in November. They suspended production on 29th July for equipment upgrading and expect to resume production in early November. They expect an output of nearly 1,000t in November and would reach full operation in December. With a production capacity of 36,000tpy, the company produced about 10,000t so far this year and expect to produce about 14,000t in 2022. Now they hold no inventory.

4.3 Gansu Jiangang increases black silicon carbide production capacity
Guansu Jiangang Silicon Carbide Co., Ltd., a major black silicon carbide producer in China, finished construction of a 50,000kVA furnace in early October and put into production since early this week, expecting an increased annual production capacity of 50,000t. They built this new production line to meet the increasing market demand and expected an annual production capacity of 74,000t in total. Their output in November would increase to about 4,000t and would reach full operation in December.With a current production capacity of 24,000tpy, the company produced about 10,000t so far in 2022 and expected to produce about 20,000t this year. They hold no inventory at present.
