1. Market Highlights
In October, the demand from downstream industries failed to pick up as expected, so the CRC and HGI coil market performed inactively and average prices went down by about RMB200/t (USD28/t). Steel mills became less active in production upon weakening demand and slow market performance. Due to the continuous depreciation of Chinese yuan and reducing demand from overseas clients, CRC and HGI coil export prices continued to fall this month.
In the international market, CRC prices in Malaysia, Vietnam and India as well as HGI coil prices in India showed signs of weakening and market participants had no confidence in the coming market at all.
