The domestic section steel and steel pipe market ran slowly during the month, and the overall market performance remained worse than that of September. Rising cases and kinds of lockdown in more and more regions after the National Day holiday (October 1-7) weakened market participants' confidence to a large extent. The demand from downstream industries kept steady, but end users remained cautious about purchasing seeing the downward price trend. Restricted by the poor sales performance, steel mills showed little confidence in the market prospect and endeavored to close deals. Meanwhile, traders kept inactive in supplementing inventories, complaining losses and poor sales performance.
