1. Market Highlights
This month, the steel market performance showed slight recovery supported by rising expectation for demand growing. CRC and HGI coil prices in major Chinese regions moved up and down frequently this month but recorded a slight rise compared with one month ago. Actually the demand from downstream industries failed to pick up obviously but market participants gained some confidence when the traditional high season came. Due to the continuous depreciation of Chinese yuan, CRC and HGI coil export prices went down this month.
In the international market, CRC prices in Malaysia, Vietnam and India as well as HGI coil prices in India all continued to go down this month upon weak demand from downstream industries. Anyhow the decrease began to narrow after prices went down so much in past months. The expectation for demand recovery began to rise.
